I Woke Up In A Para//el Universe

"I Woke Up In A Para//el Universe"
The stars shone black,
and birds flew backwards,
The day I woke into night.
You had not come back,
I had not moved forwards,
The world did not seem right.
Leaves fell in Spring,
You did not ring,
the whole time you had my number.
An Angel - no wings,
with no hymn to sing (to).
A paradox to ponder.
My mind you read.
My eyes - now blue.
My heart I cried belonged to you.
The mirror lies.
Who is that guy?
Staring back at you?
Nothing's the same,
except the pain,
of having you see right through me.
Am I dead?
Are you just in my head?
A faulty, foolish fantasy?!
One morning,
I woke up in a para//el universe,
where everything was askew.
But the one thing that hadn't changed...
- I still did not have you.

Dogs meow.
What time is now?
that all clocks have now been banned.
I know not how,
a single flower,
has not grown upon this land.
A broken God.
An honest fraud.
Nothing makes any sense.
My reward,
For hope restored...
Love is my defence.
Circles are square,
Though no-one cares,
that the sun no longer shines.
To laugh, who dares,
at life's affair,
Were you ever really mine?
I willed the world...
to stop revolving,
as I used to around you.
Upon my word,
A life involving...
You - though vanished too.
One morning,
I woke up in a para//el universe,
where everything was askew.
But the one thing that will never change...
Is that I'm still in love with You.

ps : Don't worry anyone, this is not in any way autobiographical. I guess I just put myself into a particular situation, saw it from a parallel universe's point of view, and just ran with it - and well, this is what I churned out as a result. I suppose I did draw on various past break-ups though to hone in on some particular emotions...but really, I think I was channeling some parallel self of mine in an alternate reality - whose heart, unfortunately, has been broken recently.
To You who weeps in another universe - don't worry...there's plenty more stars in the cosmos!
